The
dream that came to be
The dream started just
over twenty years ago when Jim Damalas made his first
trip to Costa Rica, camping in what was later become
Manuel Antonio National Park.
The splendor and
cathedral-like sanctity of the surrounding rainforest
and beaches made quite an impression on him. Two decades
later, what began as a vision inspired by a natural
beauty of Manuel Antonio, became the Hotel "SI COMO NO",
a unique resort situated less than half a mile from
where Jim first pitched his tent.
Today,
energy-efficient air conditioners, solar heating panels,
farm-grown woods and non-toxic resins are just part of
the thinking that has gone into the construction of this
environmentally friendly resort.
Liquid fertilizer is
produced from the kitchen’s organic waste and a
custom-designed water management system allows recycled
water to be use for landscaping and will eventually
convert sewage into fertilizer.
The Magic of Nature
This
hotel is located in Manuel Antonio Beach, in the Central
Pacific Coast, considered by many as the # 1 adventure
destination in Costa Rica.
Completely eco-friendly, "SI COMO NO"
operates in total harmony with nature. From its design
and construction to its daily operation, "SI COMO NO"
respects and protects its environment.
This philosophy has made them the
recipients of many distinctions, among them:Eco-Hotel
prototype of the American Architecture Association,
Green Hotel Prototype by the Costa Rica Tourist Board,
1996 Architectural Grand Price.
